To all CCM Volunteers,
There are a few things I need to share with you relating to Cornerstone Career Ministry.
First, I would like to thank each of you for your dedicated service in helping those who are unemployed and under-employed. Through your efforts many have been helped with getting their resume in order, improved interviewing skills and most importantly been encouraged. I often hear from those who attend the CCM meetings how much it meant to them.
Second, I want to let you know what is happening with CCM. After talking with Daniel we feel it is time to take a step back, pray and see where the ministry should go next. With this in mind all meetings have been canceled until August 21, 2012. This will allow us the time needed to focus and lay out plans for the future. I do believe there is a future for CCM and I am excited to see how it all comes together.
Third, we desire your input. As a valuable part of this ministry we would like to know your ideas as to how to best help those in a career search. I encourage you to think about topic that other career ministries may not be covering; I want CCM to be unique in its approach to helping the career seeker.
Finally, Please let me know the level of involvement you would desire moving forward. This could be being very involved by leading/teaching a breakout, being responsible for scheduling speakers, or supporting on the night of the meetings.
Remember, each of you are important to the success of Cornerstone Career Ministry.
Please send all replies to bill.plymale@fbcw.net

Comments From Attendees
Thank you so much for this note, for hosting a great CCM event on Tuesday evening and for all you do to support those of us in career transition. While I thought the entire Tuesday evening program was wonderful, I truly appreciated Jeff Piper's inspirational message. In this challenging economy and job market, I know that I am guilty of not appreciating all that God has done for me. One of my resolutions to combat this is to be thankful for those good things that God sends me and let those messengers know; the CCM ministry and your spirit of service is certainly one such blessing!
So, thanks for all you do to keep us informed, equipped and motivated (spiritually and otherwise)! I know that your service benefits many but I wanted to be sure that you heard from one describing the value it brings him!
Mike

I am looking forward to attending the event on Feb. 2. The last meeting was my first, and man, was I glad I went! Great ministry you all offer! Brian

I have not been able to attend any CCM Tuesday events in the past month because I am taking a class every Tuesday until May 10. However, I just wanted to let you know that the CCM event on March 15 was truly life-changing. I gained a great deal of valuable information from the panel of recruiters and managers that spoke. I thought I had been quite savvy in my job search, so it was quite humbling- yet empowering, to get practical information about what I could be doing differently. In particular, I raised the question about the value of cover letters which I had been spending hours creating.
I also found the New Member Orientation Breakout, conducted by Richard Voigt, to be invaluable. I have been following his suggestions to the letter and feel far more confident in my job search. I had not even begun a LinkedIn profile, nor did I have any business cards- I mistakenly thought both were outdated! Richard helped me, and I believe everyone else in the room, to feel more confident about what they have to offer potential employers, and each other. As a result, I truly believe in the power of networking and have begun participating in various networking events around Atlanta. I have also been sharing the packet of information that was sent and encouraging my friends to attend the Tuesday events.
Once my class is over in May, I definitely plan to come back to CCM, even if I have become employed :-) Thank you so much for this wonderful ministry!
